Teaching is like painting a masterpiece , using a mixture of ideas, materials and resources. It takes a long period of time and a huge amount of energy.
To design a lesson plan, the teacher can use different procedures .Today ,we are going to talk about how to use a simple key word to build a whole lesson plan.
What’s a lesson key word:
Each lesson has got an objective that will be reached through a certain context. This context depends on a key word.
I will share with you two strategies to get this key word.
The code puzzle game:
It is an idea in which the teacher designs a letter code with puzzles.
Pupils have to follow the code and order the letters according to their alphabetical order.
To teach the lesson of parts of a house , our key word is the word HOUSE.
So, I designed this shape that looks like a house.
Pupils have to follow the code , pass to the board and put each piece in the right place.
Once we finish , we get the word HOUSE .( the shape may help learners understand the word)
If the pupils are not familiar with the word, we can simply use flash cards to illustrate the meaning.
In this second lesson , the teacher is going to teach time , so the same process is followed.
Pupils follow the code and match the pieces.
Now , if our learners didn’t understand the word clock , we can simply use REALIA (real objects that the teacher uses in the classroom to help learners improve their understanding of real life problem solving situations)
THE USE OF FLASH CARDS.
To get a key , you can simply use a flash card that represents a familiar subject for learners.
In this example , the teacher WANTS TO TEACH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES so she has to use this cartoon character , it’s famous for being a food lover.
The teacher uses this flash card as a brain storming for learners.
These are some ideas that you may find helpful.
