Board games are the best way to enjoy our times either at school or at home with our kids. I always try to design games that can be used both at school and at home so that my kids get use of them. This way, I save time and efforts.
My kid is a fan of The Om-Nom mobile game and he finds it very entertaining and challenging. I took advantage of that and decided to create a large board game with two types of cards so that I can teach my learners and my kids at home.As you know homeschooling is very important for a mother-teacher.
Let’s set up the game first:
Print your printables, join the four parts of the board to get your large board game.(see the picture down bellow).I recommend that you laminate your board .
The next step is printing your cards (recto-verso) to have two-sided cards, cut and laminate them as you can see below.
There are two sets of cards in this game, one for practicing body parts.
And an other set to practice math calculation(plus and minus)
Also, you will find pictures for the players, you have to cut them to get four players, stick them on bottles covers to be used.
In addition to that, you will find two different charts to be used while playing, the first is used with the body parts where players have to note down the different parts to draw them once the game is over and the other one is for mathematics calculation.
These are the materials set for this game, now let’s move to the rules.
1.This game can be played in two to four players. They roll the die at first to decide on the order of players(first, second, third…).
2.Each player has to roll the die to move forward, if he steps on:
a.A candy, he gets the power to roll again.
b.A bubble, he moves one step forward.
c.A cut-rope, he moves one step backward.
d.A spider-web, he misses the next turn.
e.A star, he draws a card and does as Omm-Nom says.If he succeeds in his answer, he stays where he is, if he misses the right answer, he has to travel back in time to the nearest spider-web, where he misses the next turn.
Each time a player draws a card from the pile, he has to note down the given body part on his chart to draw it on an other given paper after the game is over.
These rules are the same when it’s done with mathematics.
